What Was Recalled
Multiple brands of freeze dried chicken heart treats manufactured by Foodynamics: Raw Dog Barkery Whole Chicken Hearts (16 oz.), What’s In the Bowl Whole Chicken Hearts (3 oz. and 16 oz.), BellePepper Cats Freeze Dried Chicken Heart Slices (3 oz.), and Kanu Pets Freeze Dried Chicken Heart Raw Treats (3 oz.).
Affected lot numbers: 030527 (Raw Dog Barkery and What’s In the Bowl), 031627 (BellePepper Cats and Kanu Pets), 121426 and 011526 (BellePepper Cats sample treats)
Why
FDA sampling revealed the presence of Salmonella in the products. This is a corrected recall announcement that added the What’s In the Bowl brand and removed an incorrectly included product.
Risk
Salmonella can affect animals eating the products. Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. There is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products. No adverse health effects have been reported in pets or humans to date.

- Check inventory for freeze dried chicken heart treats from the listed brands with matching lot numbers
- Stop use immediately and return to place of purchase for full refund
